Nadia Plesner
Darfurnica
Extended until 28.08.11
In cooperation with Børneskolen Bifrost HEART shows Danish artist Nadja Plesner's controverisal work "Darfurnica"
The painting has recently made the headlines of both Danish and international media. The reason for this comprehensive attention is a lawsuit, which luxury goods manufacturer Louis Vuitton filed against the young artist. The controversy is about a specific part of the paintings motif, which depicts a naked African boy with one of Louis Vuitton's easily recognisable handbags over his arm.
According to Director Holger Reenberg, HEART is showing the work because of the episode's fundamental significance for the credibility of art within a democratic society.

Shit or Gold?
09.09.10-28.08.11
In 1961 the Italian artist Piero Manzoni created the work Merda d´artista: A small, round, anonymous-looking can containing 30g of the artist’s own faeces. At the time, the work was sold at a price corresponding to the current market value of 30g of gold. The work has caused indignation and scandal, but has also carved itself a place in art history as an important example of conceptual art. The exhibition ”Shit or Gold?” focuses on the work Merda d´artista, approaching it from the following points of view: Everyday objects enter the museum, Body as material, The hidden, Piero Manzoni as Alchemist, Rejecting emotional art, Shit = Gold?
Artists: Piero Manzoni, Lucio Fontana, Enrico Castellani, Yves Klein, Marcel Duchamp, Jannis Kounellis, Knud Hvidberg, Paul Gadegaard og Sven Dalsgaard.
